Larch or tamarack are one of the few species of ‘evergreens’ that actually drop their foliage each year, making them a bit of a rebel amongst conifers. However, they don’t really act like deciduous trees either because they have needles instead of leaves. They just do their own thing, refusing to pick a lane, unaffected by their ambiguous identity and our tendency to ask whether they are neither or both.
